So, the election is finally over. I am deeply disappointed in the selection made. However, Barack Obama will be my president for at least the next four years and I will pray for him as scripture commands me to do. I grieve for the unborn children that will be murdered if he gets his way and the partial-birth abortion ban is overturned. I am also saddened by the huge “Left” turn my nation has taken in selecting the most liberal person to ever run for President of the United States. So, what now?

            The truth is that I should have been just as grieved before last night’s results. Unborn children are murdered by the thousands everyday in the name of “choice”. It would continue no matter who was elected. Millions were slaughtered in the Nazi Holocaust. The holocaust of abortion continues to be America’s shameful legacy.

            To defeat abortion once and for all hearts must be changed at the “grassroots” level. We have a great uphill battle in front of us. The majority of today’s high school students only see what MTV and other such outlets give them. They are against the war because of the innocent deaths, yet they defend abortion as a “choice”. “It must be true.” They say, “I saw it on the news.”

            We must do more than stand in front of abortion clinics and pray for those entering. We must do more than carry protest signs and show horrific pictures of the victims of abortion. We must do more than counsel women before, during and after an abortion. We must see their lives changed. In order for this to happen they must be introduced to the only agent of true change – Jesus Christ.

In this election Americans chose their pocketbooks and wallets over the innocent lives of the unborn. I believe they also chose to ignore the real person behind the image of Barack Obama created by the news media. They wanted to make history. Well, history has indeed been made. Unfortunately for the unborn, it is a history that will be filled with their innocent blood.
